Onkyos High Current Power Supply (H.C.P.S.) concept ensures that you will always have the power to respond to the wide dynamics of surround sound. To complement this power capacity, it is essential to limit the effects of signal noise. When the sound is attenuated in a conventional amplifier, the audio signal drops close to the noise floor at low volumes, thereby tainting the signal. The noise that results is magnified when the signal is amplified. Onkyos Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the standard amount of attenuation is necessary.The signal never comes close to the noise floor, thereby eliminating the possibility of the noise found in conventional volume-attenuation designs.
